WARNING
This article is intended for certified Pio Super Users who have completed Pio’s Super User course because it requires in-depth knowledge of Pio hardware.
It is dangerous to follow the instructions below if you are not a certified Pio Super User.
Please contact your manager to determine who can perform these steps in your company.
This is a self-service guide to get the system started when a robot has been registered with an unknown position.
Incident details in Customer Console
All incidents in the system will be listed in the Customer Console > Overview > Actions. Click the incident to expand and view the details.
In this example, it says 'Robot XXX has an unknown position and has stopped':
It is unsafe to start the system with this error, as the other robots can crash into the stopped robot.
Follow the steps provided in the incident details to solve the issue.
Enter the grid
Navigate to the stopped robot by using the service trolley and follow the instructions given in the Customer Console.
Important! Entering the grid is only allowed for trained Super Users.
Move the robot
First, take a photo of where the robot had stopped, for documentation reasons.
The robot needs to be moved manually to the cells in front of the service tower door.
Park the robot
When parking the robot, make sure you switch it back to 'Online' mode, and with all 8 wheels in the tracks. Take another photo of the robot, showing where it is located on the grid.
Visually inspect the tracks and the robot
There can be different reasons why the robot has lost its position. One of the reasons could be dirt on the tracks. When inside the grid, visually inspect the tracks close to where the robot stopped, and clean if necessary.
The robot has four track sensors -- one on each side and two in the front. See the location example in the picture below.
The track sensors are the small black things located directly in front of or next to the wheels. Check them carefully (visually) and remove if there is dirt or any obstacles on the track sensors.
Involve Pio Support before starting the system
When the robot has been parked and you have documented its new position, please send an update in the ticket to Pio Support, and include the photo stating where the problem robot is parked.
Pio Support will park the robot in the system before you can start the grid again.
