How to enter and exit the grid

WARNING

This article is intended for certified Pio Super Users who have completed Pio’s Super User course because it requires in-depth knowledge of Pio hardware.
It is dangerous to follow the instructions below if you are not certified Pio Super User.
Please contact your manager to determine who can perform these steps in your company.

Access the grid only when a physical intervention is required, such as fixing a bin issue or moving a robot manually.

How to enter the grid

Step 1

Open the Customer Console at the Service PC. Select the "Stop" button to stop the system. Wait until the system is stopped. If any robots are in the middle of a task, they will complete the task before halting.

The light tower will start blinking green when the system is stopping, and it will change to a steady yellow light when the system is stopped.

Step 2

Click "Unlock door" in Customer Console. There is a safety delay of approx. 10 seconds until the door is unlocked. You should hear a clicking sound when the door unlocks.

NOTE

The door will lock automatically if you do not open it for some time.

Step 3

Open the door in front of the ladder to enter the grid. Use the padlocks to block the door from locking when you are inside the grid.

Important! When inside the grid, always follow local regulations and guidelines!

How to exit the grid

Step 1

Before exiting the grid, make sure all robots and bins are placed correctly. 

Step 2

Exit the grid and close the the door.

Step 3

Switch the keylock off and on again. The grid door is locked when you hear a sound signal.

You cannot start the system until the the grid door is locked. 

Step 4

Click 'Start' in Customer Console on the Service PC.

Step 5

Wait until the system status is 'Running' and the start button is green again.

The lights in the light tower will first blink green when the system is starting and after the system is running the light is constantly green.

You will also notice that the grid door status in Customer Console changes into 'Locked'.
