There have been some rare cases where two bins that were present in the same Port at the same time have been swapped in the system. This has mostly happened when the Port required the bin to be repositioned before it could be picked up by a robot.

Usually, this should be resolved by using the Retry button a couple of times. When the power off-button for the Port is used, the Port can be confused by the bins not being in their correct position when powering it back on, which leads to the bins being swapped logically. The result of the bin mixup is usually uncovered rather quickly, when one of the bins is presented and it doesn't match the requested products.

How to fix swapped bin IDs

This procedure requires the use of two Ports to "swap" the bins back, and also access to the Service PC with the Customer Console software.

The Port covers can be kept on all the time, and the products can be left in the bins if they logically belong in the correct bin. If not, they must be removed and stored again.

  1. Close the current picking or storing sessions from the Pio app on the iPads
  2. Request bin ID 10XXXX to Port 1, using Customer Console, Service PC
  3. Request bin 10YYYY to Port 2, using Customer Console, Service PC
  4. Mark the bins as "Outside" by selecting "Remove bin". Instructions: How to take bins out of the grid
  5. Leave the bins in the Ports after marking them as "Outside".
  6. Then open the Pio app on the iPad and navigate to Housekeeping > Configure bins > Add bins, and select the bin layout that matches the physical bins in the Port before scanning the bin ID to insert it.
