This spring, we have enhanced the Pio app experience within Search, Picking, reports, and much more. Most of the updates listed below are already available in your Pio app, but some are still being rolled out to all customers.

Search flow update V2
The new and improved search flow includes:
- search history when queuing bins for inspection (if you have added a list of bins to the search queue, and exit halfway, the search queue is saved, and you can continue later)
- faster search
- scan to add an item when viewing the bin in search
- add a bin to the search queue directly from the Product/Bin history or User history
Order tags are visible in Overview
Tags on orders are used both for Order prioritization rules and Order filters in Pio. The order tags are now visible on the Admin Orders Overview, the Order Details page, and the product picking page.
Delete empty shelf locations
Keep the shelf locations tidy in the app, and delete the shelf locations that won't be used anymore. This is available in the Inventory Overview of Pio Admin:
Built-in video tutorials
Configure bin layout has a new video tutorial available from the app.
Rotation of API keys for ShipStation
ShipStation has recently (early 2025) introduced rotating API keys for enhanced account security. When you receive a notification from ShipStation on API key rotation, the new keys must be updated in your Pio app.
Replace API keys for ShipStation
Auto-logout from homescreen
When multiple users share the same port during the day, it is recommended that they always log out when stepping away from the port. You will be automatically logged out after 10 minutes.
Picking methods
A new organization setting is added for the picking methods toggle. The Picking method toggle is available on the complete screen, and adds the option to switch between Pick & Ship and Pick & Pass when fulfilling orders in Pio.
Pick & Ship is the original picking mode in Pio. All order handling happens inside the Pio app. This requires an integration with both the e-commerce/ERP/WMS software and the shipping software.
Pick & Pass is a new picking method. Use this method when the shipping happens outside the Pio app. This requires an integration with the e-commerce/ERP/WMS software for order sync, but a shipping integration is not required.
Pick & Pass with totes
Pick with totes is a new option and designed to be used with the Pick & Pass picking method.
Register the external tote ID for orders being passed on to a shipping/packing station after picking from Pio. The tote ID is requested after picking each item in the order. There can be only one tote per order, but it is possible to change to another tote during picking.
Print while picking
A print button is available in the header during picking. Click it to print a license plate at any time when picking the products for the order.
Inventory export
Previously, a full inventory export has been available on demand from Pio Support. A full inventory overview is now available to download directly from Pio Admin.
Select the shop you want to download the inventory for (or select all shops), and choose if you want the export to be by SKU or by Location:
