How to enter and exit the grid

WARNING

This article is intended for certified Pio Super Users who have completed Pio’s Super User course because it requires in-depth knowledge of Pio hardware.

Please contact your manager to determine who can perform these steps in your company.

Access the grid only in emergency situations, for example to move a robot manually.

How to enter the grid

Step 1

In Customer Console, click "Stop" button to stop the system. Wait until the system is stopped.

The green light in the light tower will start blinking when the system is stopping and it will change into steady yellow light when the system is stopped.

You will also see the system status in Customer Console.

Step 2

Click "Unlock door" in Customer Console.

Step 3

Take the key from keylock. For security reasons, take the key with you when you enter the grid so no one can accidentally start the system while you are still inside the grid. 

Wait approx. 10 seconds until the grid door unlocks.

You should hear a clicking sound when the door unlocks. You are not able to enter the grid if you don't take the key.

Step 4

Open the grid door to enter the grid. See details on how to work Inside the grid

Note that the door will lock automatically if you do not open it for some time.

Important! When inside the grid, always follow local regulations and guidelines!

How to exit the grid

Step 1

Before exiting the grid, make sure all robots and bins are placed correctly. 

Step 2

Exit the grid and close the grid door.

Step 3

Take the key back to the keylock and lock the grid door. Grid door is locked when you hear a sound signal.

You cannot start the system before you have locked the grid door. 

Step 4

Click 'Start' in Customer Console.

Step 5

Wait until the system status is 'Running' and the start button is green again.

The lights in the light tower will first blink green when the system is starting and after the system is running the light is constantly green.

You will also notice that the grid door status in Customer Console changes into 'Locked'.
