What is a bin deviation

When a SKU is flagged as damaged or incorrect during order picking, both an order deviation and a bin deviation are created.

Bin deviations must be handled separately from order deviations, and resolving one does not automatically resolve the other.

Bin deviations are reported when a port worker flags an issue with an item in a bin during picking. This creates a deviation on the bin that must be reviewed and resolved independently.

Unlike order deviations, which require follow-up by a Manager or Admin, the bin deviations can be handled by any user in the Pio app.

View reported bin issues

Select Housekeeping > 'Resolve bin deviations' to view all the bins with issues.

The deviated bins are listed as a filtered Search:

Click 'View details' to see the issue category. If a comment is added, it will also show here:

Resolving the bin deviation

Select 'Add to queue' and then 'Request bins' to start the bin deviation resolving. When the bin is presented in the port, check the flagged compartment and sort out the issue. When closing the bin, you will be asked to confirm if the issue has been resolved.

Search for a bin with issues

When searching and requesting a bin to the Port that has a deviation, you will always be asked if the deviation was resolved when closing the bin.

This applies regardless of whether the bin was requested via Housekeeping or the Search task. If the bin was requested for another purpose, you can choose to leave the deviation as unresolved.
