Edit or Cancel order with the Pio x Shopify integration

This article guides you to edit or cancel an order in Pio when using the Pio x Shopify integration. There are two different approaches to order cancellation, depending on which Shopify integration mode is applied.

Cancel or edit orders with Shopify mode: Warehouse Location

When using the Shopify integration with a warehouse location, you can edit and cancel orders in Shopify and sync them to Pio, as long as picking hasn't started.

Follow these steps to cancel a Shopify order in Pio:

Find the order in Shopify

Open the order in Shopify and tap the icon in the upper right corner of the product section. Select 'Change location':

Change the fulfillment location 

Select all the items in the order and use the 'Change location' option beneath the order lines to re-assign to another location outside Pio. Confirm the new location by selecting the black 'Change location' button in the bottom left corner: 

Check the order status in Pio

When the location for the order is changed to somewhere outside Pio, the order in Pio will be cancelled automatically. 

Resubmit the order to Pio

When the order is canceled in Pio, you can go ahead and make the necessary changes to it in Shopify. And when it is ready for entering the picking queue again, this can be done by changing the location back to the Pio warehouse location. This will create a new order fulfillment in Pio. 

Cancel or edit orders with Shopify mode: App Location

When using the Shopify integration with an App location, the order can still be cancelled or changed, as long as the picking hasn't been started in the Port. First of all, the request for fulfillment needs to be cancelled in Shopify, and then the required changes to the order can be applied.

Follow these steps to edit or cancel a Shopify order in Pio:

Find the order in Shopify

Open the order in Shopify and tap the icon in the upper right corner of the product section. Select 'Request cancellation' and confirm in the pop-up screen with the black button 'Request cancellation'.

When the fulfillment is cancelled in Shopify, the order in Pio will also be cancelled automatically:

When the fulfillment is cancelled, the order can be changed, updated or cancelled as usual. If you want to pick the order in Pio, simply request a new fulfillment from Pio.

Resubmit the order to Pio

When the order is ready to go back to the picking queue in Pio, select the 'Request fulfillment' option in Shopify to create a new fulfillment order in Pio. 
 

Confirm by selecting 'Send fulfillment request' and check back in Pio Admin > Orders that the new fulfillment arrives in Pio.
